The Two of Cups

The two of cups represents harmony, a time of stillness and contentment when everything seems to just fall into place. It also talks about fate's ability to create miracles and guide us to the right direction. It may guide you to a new career or a new loved one or a person who can lead you to the right path. It is a card that gives lost souls some relief for they are given the assurance that their destination will be revealed someday.

No matter how often we say that we make our own paths, the chances that come our way cannot possibly be our own doing. There will always be this voice -- higher consciousness some may say or gut feel or intuition or angels or guides (to those who believe in them) -- that just drives us to do something at the right time and at the right place. And, the unexpected just unfolds.

This picture tells of a story of two people meeting in Vietnam for the second time around. Both with their own reasons... It was a second meeting, a second chance that rarely happens for two people.

Death

Death is a part of life. To every beginning, there is always an end just as for every union there is always a separation. Although it may seem as a negative card that is dreaded and feared by many, the Death card can also mean new beginnings. For the spiritual, Death is actually the beginning of a new life -- When the spirit is released from the body in order to be reborn again.

The Death card should not be feared as it doesn't just represent the death of a person. It also symbolizes the end of something that you may not really need and should not be attached to. It also gives you the message that in time, new opportunities will be revealed in your path. And, you're going to have a fresh start -- A new life!

This picture was shot in Hanoi where families bury their dead in the land in which they lived. Their burial grounds can usually be found in the middle of fields and rice paddies. After two years, the family of the deceased would dig out the bones, clean them and put them in the family garden.

The Five Of Cups

The Five Of Cups
(Shoulda Coulda Woulda)

This is a card of loss depicting
a period wherein one faces a setback in his personal or professional life. It is a time of regrets, of opportunities lost that cannot be regained. It's a time of sorrow and a moment that brings about thoughts of what could've been and what could've been done.

Although this is a time when one must experience and acknowledge loss, it doesn't mean that there isn't a tiny silver lining in the bleak horizon. When the loss has been felt and one is ready to face the future and embrace what brightness it brings, the small glimmer of light will become visible to him.
